    More about Eric

Eric Allaire has been playing drums and percussion since he was 8 tears old. He started with private lessons at Seminole Music under Royce Bass. He played on and off until his 12th birthday he was given his very first drum set. At Carwise Middle school he joined band and was introduced to the orchestral, marching, and jazz arts. A year later he transferred to Seven Springs Middle School in Pasco County, this would lead to what would ultimately become Eric’s entire world.

During Middle school he studied more music, theory, and drums than he’d ever knew he could. They had a steel drum ensemble and a great director, one of Eric’s first real music mentors, Mr. Thomas Viking. Later on at J.W. Mitchell High School Eric’s musical endeavors would lead him to multiple awards and acknowledgments, 2009’s highest FMBC percussion score in the state, and National recognition when his drumline was invited to play at the Ice Palace with Keith Urban.

After High School Eric attended St. Petersburg College, joined his band UNRB, competed in WGI with Brahma from USF and began his Bachelors in Music Performance which he would receive from the University of Tampa five years later. This, all after recording two studio albums, having been featured in the work of many artists, played hundreds of shows a year all around the country, completed his senior recital, and began making a life for himself as a professional musician & mentor.

Shortly into college, he began teaching private lessons at Music Matters in Trinity, FL, and when his band stopped touring full time in 2016, Eric began to focus on how to support himself as a full time lessons instructor. This is when he began working with The Grid Book Series. After months of coordinating the online program he became a full time in studio private lessons instructor at their head quarters in Clearwater, FL. He also became the front ensemble or ‘Pit’ instructor for Clearwater High School’s 2018 marching season. His section went on to score 4th in the entire state at the FMBC band competition. He currently plays gigs all over Florida and teaches lessons with GB. He aspires too continue teaching to inspire his students in learning this amazing group of instruments.
